Signature campaign vs tax sa text tuloy

MANILA, Philippines - Tuloy ang signature campaign ng Cellphone Owners­ and Users of the Philippines laban sa panukalang pagpapataw ng buwis sa text messaging.

Sinabi ni COUP founders, Atty. Ariel Inton at Atty. Rod Domingo, isusulong pa rin nila ang signature at educational campaign laban sa mga kongresistang nais magsulong nito dahil ito ay dagdag pasakit sa mahigit 70 milyong subscribers.

“If necessary, COUP will mount peaceful protest actions in key cities in the Philippines in order to dramatize further the unpopularity and opposition to the excise tax on text,” saad ni Inton.

Una ng sinampahan ng class suit ng COUP sina House Committee on Ways and Means chairman Exequiel Javier at mga miyembrong sina Congressmen Danilo Suarez at Eric Singson. Ikalawang class suit na rin ito na isinampa ng COUP para proteksiyunan ang mga cellphone users. (Danilo Garcia)
