Pagkansela ng prangkisa ng Sulpicio inirekomenda ng BMI

Nagpalabas na ng re­komendasyon ang Board of Marine Inquiry (BMI)  na nagrerekomenda sa kanselasyon ng prang­kisa o certificate of public convenience ng Sulpicio Lines Inc. (SLI) dahil sa kabiguan umanong inga­tan ang mahigit 800 pa­sahero na sakay ng tu­maob at lumubog n M/V Princess of the of the Stars sa Romblon noong Hunyo 21.

Kinumpirma ito kaha­pon ng tagapagsalita ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) na si Lt. Senior Grade Armand Balilo, batay sa inilabas na re­sulta ng BMI na naka­takdang isumite ni PCG Commandant Vice Admiral Wilfredo Tamayo sa Department of Transportation and Communication (DTOC).

Batay sa ulat, nag­pa­baya umano ang ship captain na si Florencio Mari­mon  kaya’t ipinare-revoke ang lisensiya nito bagamat hindi pa batid kung na­kaligtas ito sa nasabing trahedya sa barko.
