2001 May election tuloy

Pinawi ng Malacañang ang pangamba ng Commission on Elections na baka hindi matuloy ang halalan sa taong 2001 dahil hindi pa naaaksyunan ng Kongreso ang pambansang budget.

Sinabi ni Budget and Management Secretary Benjamin Diokno na merong budget ang pamahalaan para sa halalan.

Tiniyak din nina Speaker Arnulfo Fuentebella at Senate President Aquilino Pimentel na matutuloy ang halalan at maaaprubahan ang badyet na natabunan ng impeachment case laban sa Pangulo. (Ulat nina Ely Saludar, Malou Rongalerios at Doris Franche)
