Nam Joo Hyuk, Han So Hee eyed for K-drama with 'Lovely Runner' writer
MANILA, Philippines — Korean actor Nam Joo-hyuk is favored to lead a new show by "Lovely Runner" and "True Beauty" screenwriter Lee Si-eun.
It was announced last week that Joo-hyuk would star opposite Lee E-dam in action crime thriller "Code" helmed by "Weak Hero Class" director and writer Yoo Soo-min.
There is confirmation now that the actor will headline a romance show with the working title "Heartbeat," and Han So-hee is being eyed to be his leading lady.
So-hee's agency confirmed the actress received an offer to star in the project and "is positively in talks" about a potential first development opposite Joo-hyuk.
The romance series would be the latest addition to So-hee's planned projects as she is reportedly appearing in a Korean remake of "The Intern" and live-action series remake of "Solo Levelling."

The latter project will also star Byeon Woo-seok, who coincidentally headlined "Lovely Runner" back in 2024.
Joo-hyuk started out as a model before transitioning to acting, first in AKMU music videos then a supporting role in "The Idle Mermaid."
His first lead project was "Who Are You: School 2015" alongside Kim So-hyun and Sungjae, which led to appearing in "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" and "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo," earning praise for the latter.
More series lead roles followed in "The School Nurse Files," "Start-Up," "Twenty-Five Twenty-One," and "Vigilante."
His latest drama, "The East Palace," is his first project after his discharge from mandatory military service.
So-hee, meanwhile, is best known for "Gyeongseong Creature," "Nevertheless," "Soundtrack #1," "My Name," and "The World of the Married." She has not appeared in anything since the movie "Project Y" last year.
