2GO integrates sea, land transfers in one platform

MANILA, Philippines — Shipping giant 2GO Group Inc. has introduced a new service called TraveLink to allow travelers to reserve their land and sea journeys in a single platform for ease of booking.

2GO yesterday announced that it is integrating land and sea transportation under TraveLink, as it aims to simplify the way Filipinos book their trips across the Philippines.

2GO head of travel Francis Chua said the shipper has decided to consolidate bookings given that the Philippines is an archipelago, so travelers tend to take multiple trips to reach a destination.

Chua said TraveLink enables Filipinos to organize bus, van and ferry trips in a single booking. It removes the hassle of booking transport needs separately, saving time for the traveler.

“Travel doesn’t begin at the port — it begins the moment that you leave home. For years, travelers had to arrange different bookings for every leg of their journey,” Chua said.

Currently, TraveLink is available for some of the country’s high-traffic routes, such as Manila-El Nido, Manila-Caticlan (Boracay), Baguio-Cebu, Baguio-Bacolod and Baguio-Siargao.

TraveLink is powered by 2GO’s partnership with travel platform 12Go, which works with some of the largest bus and van operators.

Chua said 2GO has decided to develop TraveLink to cater to travelers headed to destinations that are beyond ports, allowing them to plan their journey in just a single go.

2GO is one of the country’s biggest passenger carriers by sea, owning nine ships on its fleet. The vessels sail across the Philippines, reaching tourist destinations like Boracay, Puerto Princesa and Siargao, and the farthest ports like Dipolog and Zamboanga City.
