It’s a girl’s world in the U.S. of A.
Ariana Grande is back with hate that I made you love me, a well-written pop ballad. She is in an introspective mood and sings not in her usual soaring vocals but in a softer style.

Multo is in these days. Multo, as in ghosts who go around haunting people who did them wrong. This current take is more clear-cut than how Cup of Joe (COJ) describes it in their famous song. This multo that we have always known is not unfinished business. It is an unexplained apparition that brings on the chills.

This is what Ariana Grande plays in her latest video for the song hate that I made you love me. She is a pretty avenging multo in a yellow dress who wreaks havoc on the life of a man. Maybe a husband or lover who buried her alive, played by Justin Jacob Long of “Goosebumps.” So, she came back and also buried him alive.

Olivia Dean, who has been harvesting awards from both sides of the Atlantic like Best New Artist at the Grammys and British Artist of the Year, writes heartbreak songs that are so pleasing to the ears, such as Man That I Need and So Easy to Fall in Love.

The short film is directed by Christian Breslauer, who also did the great videos of Lil Nas X. It is a freaky interpretation of the song, funny but scary at the same time. But one cannot really argue with success because hate that I made you love me is now the No. 1 selling tune in the U.S. of A. and some other countries.

Yes, Ariana is back, stripped of her tweetums mannerisms as Glinda in two “Wicked” movies but, as ever, the strong hitmaker. In fact, she is now tied with Taylor Swift for the most No. 1 debuts in the Billboard Hot 100, a total of 10.

Olivia Rodrigo has just released the album ‘You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl so in Love’ with two hit singles, The Cure and Drop Dead.

hate that I made you love me is a well-written pop ballad that is laid-back, mid-tempo with hints of R&B and trap thrown in. It is the first single release from her upcoming album titled “petal.” She is in an introspective mood and sings not in her usual soaring vocals but in a softer style. This probably surprised a lot of her followers, but it is actually a nice, most welcome change. The result is very engaging and augurs well for the arrival of “petal.”

Speaking of Taylor, it looks like she has indeed taken a break from music after her historic “ERAS” tour. Just think the top rungs of the Hot 100 are filled and dominated by female artists, and not one of them is named Taylor Swift. But she is probably already planning her big return. But before that happens, let us check out and enjoy these other girl sounds.

London’s contribution to the hit lists is Olivia Dean, who has been harvesting awards from both sides of the Atlantic like Best New Artist at the Grammys and British Artist of the Year. And then there is Olivia Rodrigo, who is part-Pinoy and who cooks lumpia. Her latest album is titled “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl so in Love.” This is her third after “Sour and Guts.” It was released last June 12 and has already produced two hit singles, The Cure and Drop Dead.
