Beating 'Pursuit of Jade,' PH's 'Silent Noise' bags Best Asian Content at Korea OTT awards

MANILA, Philippines — The crime drama "Silent Noise," starring Angelica Panganiban, bested other entries, including "Pursuit of Jade," to win Best Asian Content at the 2026 Korea International Streaming Festival OTT Awards.
The streaming awards were held in Busan, South Korea, on Saturday, June 20.
Apart from China’s massive hit "Pursuit of Jade," the ABS-CBN and Prime Video drama was also in competition with another Chinese drama, "Shine on Me," as well as entries from Thailand ("The Believers"), Taiwan ("City Founding Pioneer") and Japan ("Hirayasumi").
"Winning this award will be very meaningful and encouraging for our team in the Philippines because it reaffirms our belief of fearlessly telling our stories with much passion, and creating genuine interactions with our audiences that will cut across borders in different territories," director Onat Diaz said in his acceptance speech.
The award is the first win for the Philippines at the Global OTT Awards and its Best Asian Content category.
Angelica nominated
Angelica also earned a nomination in the Best Lead Actor (Female) category alongside Tian Xiwei for "Pursuit of Jade," Ko Shibasaki for "Scandal Eve," Park Bo-young for "Gold Land," Kim Yoo-jung for "Dear X" and Shin Hae-sun for "The Art of Sarah." Shin won the award.
"Silent Noise" is a collaborative series by ABS-CBN Studios and Prime Video.
Set in a small town, the series follows a deaf son grappling with the death of his favorite teacher as his family becomes tangled in the case.
"Silent Noise" also stars Zanjoe Marudo, Mylene Dizon, Zaijian Jaranilla, Mutya Orquia and new child star KD Omalin.
