“Naa si tiyo.”

CRYING ‘UNCLE!’ PUJ drivers and conductors in Cebu City have a secret slang. When they tell each other “naa si tiyo” (uncle is present), it means Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) personnel are conducting an operation in a certain area, and they should be careful or avoid it altogether.
Someone told The EAR that “tiyo” was taken from TO, the last two letters of CCTO.
