Contrary to what others think, that the road from F. Llamas Street in Barangay Punta Princesa leading toward Barangay Toong in Cebu City, passing Don Bosco Technological Center and the Buhisan Reforestation Site has no name, it does. Its official name is Fr. Jose M. Bosch Street. There are people who call it Buhisan Road, though.

The road is named after a priest who was born in Ciutadella, Menorca-Ballares Islands, Spain, on March 27, 1921. He arrived in the Philippines on March 2, 1956 after he became a missionary in Turin, Italy on June 24, 1954.

Fr. Jose Bosch served as assistant parish priest at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church from 1958 to 1964 and later as parish priest from 1964 to 1968, then on 1971 to 1983. He was largely responsible in the establishment and building of the Lourdes Parish Church in Punta Princesa and tended to the poor by providing numerous scholarships for the youth in Cebu City.

He established the Lourdes Parish Rondalla, comprising of more than 300 students, thereby preserving Cebuano music and culture.

Fr. Jose Bosch was known to many and was close to his parishioners that made the Lourdes Parish one of the most vibrant and dynamic parishes in Cebu. He died on October 13, 1995. His death was mourned by thousands, many of whom were then the youth he helped to become successful men and women.

The Cebu City Council, on March 31, 1997, on motion of then Councilor ArnulfoRavina, enacted Ordinance No. 1672, naming the street starting from F. Llamas Street in Punta Princesa leading towards Barangay Toong, passing Don Bosco Technological Center and the Buhisan Reforestation Site as "Fr. Jose M. Bosch Street".

The ordinance was approved by Mayor Alvin B. Garcia on April 29, 1997, officially naming a street after a priest who served the people of his parish.
