[Title] => Almost a part of show business
[Summary] => Business & Leisure (B&L), the television show, has been on the air for some 24 years now, and through all these years, the show has made friends, “suki” if you will, who we can rely on for intelligent opinions on a given matter in their own field of expertise, always making themselves ready for those countless quick interviews. The welcome mat has always been unrolled graciously for the B&L production staff and TV crew, and we are thankful.

[Title] => Northbound shopping
[Summary] => We went North because we needed to buy something that was available only in a health store in Quezon City. Also because one of our readers convinced us to re-visit the Hi Top supermarket on Quezon Avenue, near the EDSA rotunda, so we could check current prices of prime commodities. This was not the first time wed go there. Luckily we cruised along on an early morning, without being hampered by bumper-to-bumper traffic. Along the way, theres Makro and Farmers Market. So to maximize this trip, specially with regard to saving gas, we dropped in on those places as well.

[Title] => How do you cope with the hard times?
[Summary] => Answer: Hardly! Short of taking turns to eat, cash-strapped families are stretching not just their meager budget but also their imagination to ward off pangs of hunger. Remember Dr. Ned Robertos nationwide consumer coping and buying behavior survey in July 2002? Well, the survey says that the Class E market is subsisting on "surrogate ulam." Coffee and soy sauce top the list of surrogate ulam.

[Title] => A lot of things happened on our way to the beach
[Summary] => It is pitch black. The moon, now on its last quarter phase, lends some illumination. From where we are sitting, the sea shimmers now and then with what looks like a sequined serpent bobbing up and down. The waves whisper, the wind seems to gasp. Suddenly the silence is disturbed by two men carrying what seems to be a banca. The grating of the wood against the sand mixes with the bassy voices of the men. "Bilisi at baka kita’y maabutan ng ulan,"(Hurry up, I can smell rain) the older man says.
