MANILA, Philippines — Cebuano karter William John Riley Go has gained one big step towards reaching a dream to make the F1 race.

“It is my honor to reveal that I have secured a spot as one of the top two in the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) Shootout for Asia Pacific and Oceania,” said Go on his Facebook page.

Go, along with Chinese Taipeh’s Enzo Yeh, has been selected as finalists in the recent selection program at Sepang in Malaysia.

The two Asian bets will now head to Italy for the World Scouting Finals at the FDA in Fiorano to take on some of the best young talents from around the world for a full-time place in the coveted FDA program.

“Being able to represent my country on this international stage is both an honor and responsibility. I can’t wait to carry the flag with pride in Fiorano Circuit for the next stage,” said Go.

Go qualified for Fiorano following an intensive three-day selection program at Sepang’s famous Formula 1 circuit, run in partnership with scouting partner Motorsports Australia.
