Flash flood at landslide victims sa Visayas-Mindanao inayudahan ng DSWD

MANILA, Philippines — Umabot na sa mahigit P27 milyong  halaga ng relief assistance ang naipamahagi ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa mga residente na naapektuhan ng flash flood at landslides sanhi ng Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) at southwest monsoon sa Mindanao at Visayas region.

“The DSWD, through our field offices in the different regions in Visayas and Mindanao, are continuously sen­ding food and non-food items (FNIs) to families and individuals affected by heavy rain fall, flash floods, and landslides,” sabi ni DSWD Asst. Secretary at Spokesperson Irene Dumlao.

Ang relief assistance na ibinigay ng DSWD field offices  ay mga family food packs (FFPs), non-food items, kabilang na ang financial assistance.

Naglalaman ng mga essential food items, ang FFPs kabilang na ang bigas, delata, kape at iba pang pangangailangan na makatutugon sa bawat pamil­yang naapektuhan ng kalamidad.

“Our field offices have been in quick response mode as per the directive of Secretary Rex Gatchalian. He ordered the regional directors to dispatch FFPs for the affected families immediately,” dagdag pa ng tagapagsalita ng DSWD.

Batay sa pinakahu­ling report ng  Disaster Res­ponse Operations Management, Information, and Communication (DROMIC) may kabuuang bilang na  34,883 pamilya o 174,173 indibidwal sa may 176 barangays sa Regions 6 (Western Visayas), 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula), 11 (Davao Region), 12 (Soccsksargen), at Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) na pawang apektado ng mga pag-ulan at baha.

Kaugnay nito, umabot din sa 54,729 families o 265,806 persons naman sa 175 barangays sa Regions 9, 12 at BARMM ang apektado ng Habagat.

Sa kasalukuyan, may P2.7 billion stockpiles at standby funds ang DSWD Field Office para umagapay sa mga pangangailangan ng mga apektadong residente.
