P308 M buwis nakolekta ng Customs sa Subic

Subic Bay Freeport – Naalpasan ng Bureau of Customs-Port of Subic (BoC-PS) ang kanilang collection target nito lamang nakalipas na buwan ng Marso kung saan nakapagkolekta ng mahigit P308 milyong buwis sa loob lamang ng isang buwan ng taong 2006 doble sa nakaraang 2005 quarterly collection.

Sa nakalap na accomplishment report na isinumite ng bagong talagang Subic Customs District Collector na si Atty. Grace Caringal kay Customs Commissioner Napoleon Morales, kumolekta ang naturang kawanihan ng P308 milyon sa buwan lamang ng Marso o 124 karagdagang porsyento sa P137 milyong original target collection nito.

Sinabi ni Caringal na bukod pa sa nalagpasang koleksyon ng BoC Subic ay nakakolekta din sila ng mahigit P757-M buwis para sa unang tatlong buwan ng taong ito kumpara sa nakalipas na taon na nakapagkolekta lamang ng P527-M o 43 porsyentong dagdag.

"This is a good start of the year for Subic Freeport in terms of revenue generation and we are hoping that the uptrend will be maintained for the rest of the year," pahayag ni Caringal na dating Customs collector sa Port of Manila.

Ayon naman kay Customs Assessment Division chief Collector Carlito Pascua, nakapagtala ang Port of Subic ng mahigit P1.18 bilyong buwis mula sa pinagsamang combined cash at non-cash collections kung saan tumaas ng 50 porsyento kumpara sa target collection na P787 milyon na ninais ng Department of Finance.

Ipinaliwanag ni Pascua na ang non-cash collection ay pawang sa government to government transactions na pinapayagang magkaroon ng deferred payment ng customs taxes and duties tulad sa importasyon ng bigas ng Department of Agriculture at pagpapasok ng mga construction materials at kahalintulad na mga kagamitan mula naman sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
