Guld bumida sa Stage 9

CANDON CITY, Ilocos Sur, Philippines — Nang makakita ng pagkakataon ay kaagad itong sinamantala ni Daniel Ridwan Guld ng CCN Factory Racing para agawin ang Stage Nine 137.6-kilometer race ng MPTC Tour of Luzon 2026 kahapon dito sa harap ng Candon City Arena.

Nagtala ang 25-anyos na si Guld ng bilis na tatlong oras, 13 minuto at dalawang segundo para ungusan sina Benedict Soriano at Daniel Jay Fariñas ng Team Pangasinan.

Naligaw si Ronnilan Quita ng 7Eleven Cliqq Road Bike Philippines sa huling kilometro ng karera kaya siya naunahan nina Guld, Soriano at Fariñas.

“With one kilometer to go with some of us took the wrong direction, so two guys took the lead, I tried to catch up to them and then in the last 100 meters I caught them,” ani Guld na mag-isang tinawid ang finish line.

Tumapos si Quita, hinatak at hinawakan ang lead pack mula sa 50km mark hanggang maligaw sa huling kilometro ng karera sa ikaapat na puwesto.

“Last one kilometer po naligaw ako. Pagkanan sa last 500 (meters), diretso po pala,” sabi ni Quita. “Masakit pero okay lang po iyon marami pa namang chance.”

Bigo si Quita na maduplika ang panalo nina Ryan Tugawin ng Excellent Noodles Cycling Team sa Stage Eight at Dave Montemayor ng Go for Gold Philippines sa Stage Three.

Samantala, suot pa rin ni Stage Seven winner Nikita Shulchenko ng LCW UAE Cycle ang yellow jersey sa Individual General Classification sa kanyang oras na 26:01:59.

Nasa ilalim ng Russian rider sina LCW-UAE teammate at Stage One winner Yousef Ibrahiem Alrefai (-00:01:38) at Mervin Corpuz ng 7-Eleven Cliqq (-00:04:15).

Nangunguna pa rin ang Go for Gold sa Team Gene-ral Classification sa kanilang 103:15:35 kasunod ang Standard Insurance (-0:1:40) at 7-Eleven Cliqq (-0:3:04).

Pakakawalan ngayong umaga ang Stage 10 131.2km route mula rito sa Candon City hanggang Cervantes.
