‘Pacman’ itinaas sa No. 4 sa listahan ng pound-for-pound
MANILA, Philippines - Mula sa kanyang paÂnaÂlo kay dating world welÂterweight titlist Timothy Bradley, Jr. noong Linggo ay umangat si FiliÂpino legend Manny Pacquiao sa pound-for-pound lists ng RingTV.com.
Itinaas ng RingTV.com si Pacquiao sa No. 4 maÂtapos bawiin ang kanyang World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title kay Bradley sa MGM Grand sa Las VeÂgas, Nevada.
Inilagay naman ng Sports Illustrated si ‘Pacman’ sa No. 3 sa kanilang listahan.
Dinomina ni Pacquiao si Bradley sa loob ng 12 rounds para maiganti ang kanyang split decision loss noong Hunyo 9, 2012 sa MGM Grand para muÂling maging isang world champion.
“Call him Pacquiao 2.0,†sabi ng Sports IllusÂtrated sa Filipino icon. “This version of Pacquiao doesn’t apply the same relentÂless pressure, doesn’t intimidate opÂpoÂnents with crushing poÂwer, doesn’t win many fights by knockout.â€
“But this Pacquiao can still overwhelm with his activity and is difficult to outpoint,†dagdag ng SI.
Nanatili naman si American superstar Floyd Mayweather, Jr. sa No. 1 sa listahan ng Sports Illustrated kasunod si super middleweight champion Andre Ward.
Si Bradley ay bumagsak sa No. 10 sa Sports Illustrated rankings.
“Despite the loss to PacÂquiao, Bradley didn’t diÂminish his brand,†wika ng Sports Illustrated. “He abandoned his counterÂpunÂching style in search of a decisive win, and proÂbably won some new fans with the effort.â€
