Coach Karl hangad ang mabilis na pagbabalik ni Lawson

DENVER -- Umaasa si coach George Karl sa mabilis na paggaling ni point guard Ty Lawson kagaya ng kanyang paglalaro.

Naniniwala ang Denver Nuggets coach na magi-ging mainit pa rin ang kampanya ng kanyang team kahit wala si Lawson na may punit na plantar fascia sa kanyang kanang paa.

Si veteran Andre Miller ang papalit kay Lawson sa kanilang pagsagupa sa Utah Jazz nitong Miyerkules katuwang si rookie Evan Fournier.

“It’s going to be more of a team commitment, to keep the pace at a high level,’’ sabi ni Karl matapos ang kanilang team practice nitong Lunes. “It will be interesting ... to see if we slow down. I personally don’t think we will.’’

Nakaupo ang Nuggets bilang third seed sa Western Conference standings at may natitira pang walong laro.

Umaasa ang Nuggets na sila ang mamamahala sa first-round playoff game sa Pepsi Center kung saan mayroon silang NBA-best 33-3 record ngayong season.

“Ty’s job and our job is to figure out how to get him feeling 100 percent,’’ sabi ni Karl kay Lawson. “I’m optimistic it will work its way out.’’

Unang idineklara ang injury ni Lawson na isang strained heel kung saan tatlong laro ang kanyang iniupo bago nakabalik noong nakaraang linggo kontra sa San Antonio Spurs.

At sa sumunod na araw ay napatunayan itong isang plantar fascia tear.

Nagtatala si Lawson ng mga averages na 16.7 points at 6.9 assists para sa Denver.
