Azkals kumpiyansang mananalo kontra sa War Elephants
BANGKOK - Sinabi ni Azkals skipper Rob Gier na dapat seryosohin ng mga fans ang Philippine men’s football team.
Ito ay dahil sa kanilang pagiging “contenders” sa AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 mula sa 0-0 scoreless draw kontra sa tournament favorite na Thailand noong Sabado sa Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
“I think we were excellent against Thailand last Saturday and we proved a lot of people wrong, showing them we’re serious contenders in this tournament,” sabi ni Gier.
Sumang-ayon naman sa kanya si striker Phil Younghusband.
Dumating na rito ang Azkals para sa Round 2 ng kanilang home-and-away semifinal duel ng War Elephants ng Thailand.
Kumpiyansa si Gier na mananalo ang Azkals sa kanilang muling pagharap sa War Elephants bukas sa Rajamangala Stadium.
“I think if we put up a performance like that (home game) again, there’s no way we can play 180 minutes (two matches) and not score a goal. If we bring the same performance level, the same enthusiasm, the same energy, we’ve got a chance,” ani Gier.
