PNP tummy trim campaign

IBIG ko’ng ilathala nang buo ang sulat na ipinadala sa atin ni Chief, PIO ng Philippine National Police - Police Chief Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac bagamat natalakay ko na sa nagdaan ko’ng column.  Kasi, dalawang ulit itong ipinadala sa atin, una sa fax at ang pangalawa ay ang hard copy.

May tampo ang tenor ng sulat dahil sa isang isyu ng ating Litra-Talks ay ginamit ko ang larawang nagpapakita sa work out ng mga pulis sa pangunguna ni Chief PNP Gen. Alan Purisima at DILG Sec. Mar Roxas. Nilagyan ko ito ng dialog na: PURISIMA: Ito ang Style ni Jackie Chan. ROXAS: Tama. Para hindi kayo LAKI-CHAN. In the interest of fair play, narito po ang buong liham na naka-address sa akin:

I read with displeasure today’s issue (Jan. 13) of Pilipino Star NGAYON particularly the Litra-talks editorial photo with dialogue boxes superimposed on the otherwise well-meaning photo of our DILG and PNP leaders taken during the launching of a physical fitness program.

I must say that I cannot understand whether or not the principles of objectivity and truth, or if it were editorial cartoons, I will rest my case. But because I personally witnessed the event and I don’t remember having heard Sec Mar Roxas and General Alan Purisima exchanging those words while performing the physical fitness exercises, then please allow me this opportunity to raise my issue in the best interest of fairness.

The relaunched PNP physical fitness and sports development program is indeed a well-meaning and noble program that we in the PNP look up to with great respect, utmost enthusiasm and bright hopes for our personal well-being. We put premium on our health and strengths as our personal assets in facing the rigors of police work, we take the PNP physical fitness and sports development program seriously, and as such, neither take in stride nor make fun of it. Hindi natin layuning manakit ng damdamin sa ating lampoon na Litra-Talks kundi tumawag lamang ng pansin sa nagdudumilat na katotohanan na may mga pulis na  lumolobo ang tiyan.  Medyo malaki rin ang tiyan ko pero hindi naman ako pulis bagamat nagsisikap pa ring mapaliit ito. Okay ba tayo tiyan?
