P88.2 bilyong kita nawawala sa fake PWD IDs - BIR
MANILA, Philippines — Binalaan ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ang publiko sa paggamit ng pekeng PWD ID para maka- discount sa pagbabayad ng buwis.
Ayon kay BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr., magsasagawa ng malawakang crackdown ang Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) laban sa mga nagbebenta at gumagamit ng pekeng person with disability identification cards.
Sinabi ni Lumagui na umabot na sa P88 bilyong buwis ang nawawala noong 2023 dahil sa tax evasion ng mga gumagamit ng pekeng PWD IDs.
Ang mga ito anya ay nakakukuha ng 20 porsyentong discount at hindi pinagbabayad ng value added tax sa mga piling goods at services.
“People who sell and use fake PWD IDs are not only committing tax evasion, they are also disrespecting legitimate and compliant PWDs. The discount given by law to PWDs is for the improvement of their well-being and easing of their financial burden,” pahayag ni Lumagui.
““It is not some common discount card that is accessible to the general public. Expect the BIR to run after fake PWD ID sellers and users,” pahayag ni Lumagui.
