Fil-Chinese ‘nagtampo’ sa tax issue

Rudy Andal - Pilipino Star Ngayon

MANILA, Philippines - Nagdamdam ang mga Filipino-Chinese businessmen kay Pangulong Aquino dahil sa akusasyon nitong marami sa miyembro ng Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) ang hindi nagbabayad ng tamang buwis.

Ginawa ng Pangulo ang akusasyon sa miyembro ng Fil-Chinese community sa mismong ika-29 biennial convention ng Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry noong nakaraang linggo sa SMX Convention Center.

“It is unfair for President Aquino to say we do not pay taxes,” ayon kay Rosendo So, pangulo ng Rosales-Eastern Pangasinan Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

“We wish to inform President Aquino that some national officials of the FFCCCII after retirement are no longer in business, therefore, they no longer engage in business. This explains why some of the officers declare zero business taxes,” dagdag pa ni So.

“The different chambers of commerce are not income generating, therefore, they are tax exempt too. These chambers of commerce are like non-government organizations that are non-profit,” paliwanag pa ni So.
