Piolo pinagsasabay sina Toni at Rhian

Wow, for the first time, Piolo Pascual is working on two films with two new leading ladies for partners.

These are Toni Gonzaga, in his movie after a long time with Star Cinema na Unlove U, and Rhian Ramos, yes, the GMA 7 talent, in the indie film naman na Silong.

What is keeping Piolo busy as well is his upcoming charity fun run, SunPiology, which, for five years now, has been organizing in cooperation with Sun Life Financial.

Scheduled on Nov. 23, lahat ng malilikom na pera sa nabanggit na fun run is earmarked for Piolo’s foundation which gives scholarships to poor but deserving students.

Michael V. pinagbigyan ang ninang sa kasal

Kung ang isa sa mga dahilan ng paglipat at pag-sign up ni Ogie Alcasid with TV5, after maging contract talent siya ng GMA 7 for 20 years at dahil sa kanyang Ninong Manny (for Manuel V. Pangilinan or MVP, chairman ng TV5), iba naman ang rason ni Michael V. Bagama’t, more or less, parang basically the same na rin.

Ninang naman nila sa kasal ng asawang si Carol si Wilma Galvante, formerly a GMA 7 executive and now head of entertainment ng TV5.

Ayon kay Michael V., or Bitoy to people close to him, he could not say no to his Ninang Wilma when she offered him to host Killer Karaoke Pinoy Naman, ang franchise ng US hit reality show na Killer Karaoke.

Actually, too, he admitted na he liked the concept of the show kasi he had seen din naman its foreign version.

Kung naging madali kay Bitoy ang pagbigay galang sa mga kinauukulan sa GMA 7 that he was signing up for a show with TV5 ay dahil hindi raw siya on an exclusive contract with the Kapuso. Ito raw ang dahilan why all of his shows sa Network will continue, such as Bubble Gang, Pepito Manaloto, at Eat Bulaga.

All three shows happen to be GMA 7’s high-rating programs.

In any case, did you know that Michael actually started his showbiz career and honed, kumbaga, his comedy skills and talent with TV5? This was 18 years ago when the Network was referred to as ABC Channel 5.

Of Killer Karaoke, the show is a big hit, not just in the US, but also in the UK, Russia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Thailand, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico.

Killer Karaoke Pinoy Naman is scheduled for airing Nov. 16, 9 p.m., with Mike Tuviera directing.

Melissa hinihikayat sumubok sa Binibining Pilipinas

As much as possible Melissa Ricks, who is cast in the new series Honesto, would avoid na discussing her breakup with former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate, Paul Jake Castillo. Both, after all, have made a previous pronouncement that they separated amicably.

Looking prettier and a bit sexy now, Melissa, who just turned 23 years old, is being enticed to join the next Binibining Pilipinas tilt.

She stands almost 5’8’’ and, like Megan Young, her fellow Star Magic talent and the current Miss World, is articulate both in English and Tagalog.

Like Megan pa rin, she has a Filipino mom and an American father.

Pero unlike Megan, however, solid pa rin ang pagsasama ng kanyang mga magulang.
