Marcial babandera sa AIBA meet

MANILA, Philippines — Limang matitikas na miyembro ng natio­nal boxing team ang isa­sabak ng Pilipinas sa 2019 AIBA World Bo­xing Championships na idaraos sa Setyembre 7 hanggang 22 sa Yekate­rinburg, Rus­sia.

Pangungunahan ni­na reigning Southeast Asian Games gold me­da­lists Eumir Felix Mar­cial (men’s 75kg.) at John Marvin (men’s 81kg.) ang kampanya ng pambansang koponan sa torneong lalahukan ng ma­higit 50 bansa.

Maliban sa gintong medalya sa SEA Games, parehong may pilak na medalya sina Marcial at Marvin sa ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.

Sasalang din sina Car­lo Paalam (men’s 52 kg.), Ian Clark Bautista (men’s 57 kg.) at James Pa­licte (men’s 63 kg.) na susuntok sa kani-ka­nilang dibisyon.

Nakasungkit si Pa­a­lam ng tansong medalya no­ong 2018 Asian Games sa Jakarta, Indo­nesia at dating bronze me­dalist noong 2016 AIBA Youth World.

Sa kabilang banda, na­kasungkit si Bautista ng ginto sa Subic Bay 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Bo­xing Championships at tanso naman sa Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.

Si Palicte ay gold medalist sa Subic Bay 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Bo­xing Championships.

Ilang Pinoy pugs ang sumalang sa Strandja Memorial Tournament, Indian Open Internatio­nal Bo­xing Tournament at Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament.

Bahagi ito ng paghahanda ng koponan para sa 2019 SEA Games na gaganapin sa Pilipinas sa Nobyembre 30 hanggang Disyembre 11.

Sumuntok ng tansong me­dalya si Rogen Ladon no­ong 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships sa Doha, Qatar.

Umaasa ang Asso­cia­tion of Boxing Al­lian­ces in the Philip­pines na ma­­­ganda ang ipa­pakita ng koponan sa AIBA World.
