Saludar wagi kay Taniguchi

MANILA, Philippines — Ginamit ni Filipino champion Vic “Vicious” Saludar ang kanyang eksperyensa para talunin si Japanese challenger Masataka Taniguchi via una-nimous decision at manatiling world minimumweight king noong Martes ng gabi sa Korakuen Hall sa Tokyo, Japan.

Pinaboran ng tatlong judges si Saludar para sa kanyang panalo kay Taniguchi at patuloy na isuot ang World Boxing Organization minimumweight title pabalik ng Pilipinas.

Ito ang unang pagdedepensa ng 28-anyos na tubong Cagayan De Oro sa kanyang bitbit na WBO crown na inagaw niya kay Japanese Ryuya Yamanaka sa pamamagitan ng isang unanimous decision win sa Kobe, Japan noong Hulyo ng 2018.

Si Saludar, inangat ang boxing record sa 19-3-0 win-loss-draw kasama ang 10 knockouts, ay isa sa limang Filipino boxing champions sa kasalukuyan kasama sina welterweight Manny Pacquiao, bantamweight Nonito ‘the Filipino Flash’ Donaire, Jr., super flyweight Jerwin Ancajas at flyweight Donnie ‘ahas’ Nietes.

Nalasap naman ni Taniguchi, nauna nang tumalo kina Pinoy fighters Joel Lino, Joey Bactul, Benjie Bartolome, Dexter Alimento, Vincent Bautista at Raymark Taday, ang ikatlo niyang kabiguan sa 14 laban.
