DOT to hold free watch party for SB19's Lollapalooza performance

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino boy group SB19 is set to make history as the first Filipino act to perform at the music festival Lollapalooza in Chicago, Illinois, and fans in the Philippines will have a chance to watch the milestone together through a free public viewing organized by the Department of Tourism (DOT).
In a social media announcement, the DOT said it will hold a free watch party at the Rizal Park Open Air Auditorium in Manila on Friday, July 31, from 1:30 a.m. to 6 a.m.
The event will feature a live simulcast of SB19's performance at the Allianz Stage in Grant Park, Chicago.
The watch party will begin with a listening party and pre-show activities at 1:30 a.m., followed by the livestream of SB19's performance at around 4 a.m.
"Join the live simulcast screening on a big screen with a shared countdown to the group's set at the Rizal Park Open Air Auditorium," the agency said.
Admission to the watch party is free, but attendees are required to register in advance through the link provided on DOT's official social media pages.
The event comes weeks after SB19 was named the Philippines' newest tourism ambassador by the DOT.
Meanwhile, Disney+ Philippines, which will exclusively livestream Lollapalooza, reminded fans that SB19's performance will only be available live and will not have a replay.
In an advisory posted on social media, the streaming platform said the group's set is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on July 30 in Chicago, or 4:30 a.m. on July 31 in the Philippines.
Disney+ Philippines also encouraged fans to tune in early, noting that slight schedule adjustments are common during live festival events. The livestream is set to begin at 3:45 a.m. Philippine time.
Ahead of the historic performance, Disney+ Philippines also hosted a fan hangout where A'TIN members gathered to play games, sing along to SB19's hit songs, and celebrate the group's upcoming Lollapalooza debut.
