- AT - The Philippine Star

“When I first came in, I had good players. But in the next few years, we went out to the countryside and started getting the best players to play for the Ateneo team. Me and Paolo Trillo build the foundation together with the program. We grew it to a point where we were able to bring in good players over the years. That’s what I would like to be remembered,” wika ni Black.

“I’m very, very successful because Ateneo has now a strong foundation. A lot of people also don’t know that we have a year-round program. We work the entire year, we push our players a lot, we ask a lot from them and they come up big. I would like to thank them for that,” dagdag ng 54-anyos na dati ring sikat na PBA import noong kanyang kapanahunan.

“Next year maybe a little bit of a problem because some of the key players are leaving. But it will be up to the next coach to get out there and start recruiting again,” dagdag pa ni  Black.
