Kamay ni Donaire wala raw pinsala

MANILA, Philippines - Inaasahang sa susunod na mga linggo ay makakabalik na sa pag-eensayo si Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire, Jr. makaraang ipakita ang kanyang dumudugo at namamagang kaliwang kamao mula sa isang split decision win laban kay Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. noong Pebrero 4.

“In a few weeks, it should be fine, and then he’s going to start exerci­­sing and strengthening the tendons with hand exer­cises, and he should be ready to go in May or June,” ani Dunkin kay Donaire.

“Nonito’s hand’s good. There are no breaks. He cut a vein, and what happened is that the vein was rubbing against the wrap inside of his gloves, and the vein swelled up into a blood blister and it popped,” sabi ng kanyang manager na si Cameron Dunkin.

“According to his doctor, that caused a lot of pain. So that’s what happened. But luckily, there are no breaks,” dagdag pa nito.

Binigo ni Donaire si Vazquez sa Alamodome sa San Antonio, Texas para kunin ang bakanteng WBO super bantamweight belt na binitawan ni Mexican Jorge Arce.

Dala ngayon ni Donaire ang 28-1-0 (18 KOs) slate at ilan sa mga maaari ni­­yang labanan ay sina Ja­panese Toshiaki Nishioka (39-4-3, 24 KOs) at Arce (59-6-2, 45 KOs) na kasalukuyang WBC super bantamweight titlist at WBO bantamweight king, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Sinabi ni Dunkin na mas gusto niyang labanan muna ni Donaire si Arce kasunod si Nishioka.
