Japanese netters dumating na sa Cebu

MANILA, Philippines –  Dumating na sa Lapu Lapu City, Cebu ang Japanese team para sa kanilang Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Zone Group I tie ng Philippine squad.

Hangad ng naturang tropa na maging pamilyar sa outdoor claycourts at maging sa klima sa kani­lang banggaan ng mga Pinoy sa Marso 4-6.

Ang Japanese team ay kinabibilangan nina Go Soeda, Yuichi Sugita, Tatsuma Ito at Takao Suzuki.

Nakatakda nilang ha­rapin ang koponang binabanderahan nina Cecil Mamiit, Treat Huey, Johnny Arcilla at Elbert Anasta sa newly-built 1,500-seater Plantation Bay Resorts and Spa courts.

“They’ll be in Cebu tonight,” wika ni RP Davis Cup administrator Randy Villanueva.

Huling tinalo ng Japan ang Phl team noong nakaraang taon via 5-0 shutout sa Osaka, Japan.

“The boys have prepared hard for this particular tie, we hope the result would be different this time,” wika ni Villanueva.

Nagtungo na ang mga Fil­ipino netters sa Cebu no­on pang nakaraang ling­go.

“I’m confident of our chan­ce because we’ve been working and training hard for this particular tie,” ani Mamiit.
