Legendary boxer kinuha ni Roach
MANILA, Philippines - Matapos patalsikin si dating world heavyweight champion Michael Moorer, isang legendary boxing trainer naman ang kinuha ni Freddie Roach.
Ang 66-anyos na trainer na si Jessie Reid ang bagong assistant ng 49-anyos na si Roach sa kanyang Wildcard Boxing Gym sa Hollywood, California.
Ito ang kinumpirma ng nakababatang kapatid ni Roach na si Pepper sa 8Count.com kahapon.
“It’s true, he’s the new assistant,” wika ni Pepper sa pagkuha ni Roach kay Reid na nakapagpakilala na rin ng siyam na bigating world boxing champions.
Kabilang sa mga world champions na hinawakan ni Reid ay sina world lightweight bantamweight champion Orlando Canizares,
“I really feel like I hit the Lotto,” Reid told me. “I’ve worked with some very good fighters, with Orlando and Gaby Canizales, Jessie Burnett, Bruce Curry, Roger Mayweather and many others but working with Pacquiao is unbelievable.”
“I have known Freddie for 38 years, back to when he was a young fighter,” ani Reid. “We’ve been in opposite corners but never worked together. I am really excited about this.” (Russell Cadayona)
