3rd doubles title nasungkit ni Alcantara

MANILA, Philippines - Namintina ni Francis Casey Alcantara ang kanyang matikas na porma sa doubles competitions, sa pakikipagtambalan sa Swede na si Daniel Berta upang pataubin ang Kiwis na sina Ben at Riki McLachlan, 6-3, 6-0 at isubi ang korona ng 20th Mitsubishi-Lancer International Junior Championship sa Rizal Tennis Center nitong Sabado ng gabi.

Ito ang ikatlong doubles victory ni Alcantara ngayong taon kasama na rito ang Australian Junior Open nitong nakaraang Enero at ang ika-apat na finals appearance matapos na mag-runner-up sa Grade 1 event sa Thailand may dalawang linggo na ang nakakaraan.

Samantala, pinangunahan naman ng Russian na si Polina Leykina ang ladies side matapos na-iposte ang 6-2, 6-4 tagumpay laban sa kababayang si Ekaterina Nikitina.

“I was confident going into this game that’s why I played well,” anang 14-year-old Leykina, Mos-cow native, na may nai-pon ng 150 singles points.
