Castillo, Alcala pasok sa JVC Open quarters

Kapwa nagtala sina Gelita Castillo at Malvinne Ann Alcala ng impresibong panalo upang pangunahan ang mga quarterfinalists sa girls ‘14-under division ng JVC Open Junior Badminton Championships sa SM Megamall nitong weekend.

Dinispatsa naman ni Alcala na paborito sa 12-under class, si Vicka Dorado ng RAQ4, 21-6, 21-11, upang itakda ang quarterfinal round duel laban kay Krisnin Yang sa lower bracket. Si Yang, top bet ng Whackers Badminton Court, ay nanalo kay Tracy Alagao ng Power and Speed, 21-15, 21-11.

Ang iba pang umusad sa tournament na sponsored ng JVC (PHILS.), Inc. at inorganisa ng IMG, ay sina Kathleen Balatbat ng Malolos, Abegail Garcia ng PNP, at Centro Atletico bets na sina Jessalam Sampurna at Pia Fabros.
