8 pa rin ang team sa PBL

Sa kabila ng pagpasok ng bagong koponang TeleTech, mananatili pa ring walo ang mga tropa sa Philippine Basketball League (PBL).
Sinabi kahapon ni PBL chairman Chito Loyzaga na kinumpirma na ng Far Eastern Insurance ang kanilang pansamantalang pagbabakasyon para sa darating na 2006 PBL Unity Cup.
"Kahit nadagdagan kami to be nine supposed to be, eh nabawasan naman kami ng isa," sabi ni Loyzaga. "So were still on an eight-team roster league."
Sa nakaraang PBL Heroes Cup na pinagharian ng Magnolia Wizards, nabigong makaabante ang Insurers sa semifinal round.
Maliban sa Teletech, ang iba pang tropang makikita sa torneo ay ang nagtatanggol sa koronang Rain or Shine, Magnolia Dairy Ice Cream, Harbour Centre, Granny Goose, Hapee-PCU, Montaña Pawnshop at Toyota Otis-Letran.
Hahataw ang 2006 PBL Unity Cup sa Marso 26 sa San Andres Gym sa Malate, Manila.
Samantala, pinag-aaralan naman ni PBL Commissioner Chino Trinidad ang paglalatag ng apat na laro bawat linggo.
"It is something that they are considering mainly because of the time that we have," sabi ni Loyzaga. "The PBL definitely will always end before the start of the NCAA and the UAAP. And at the same time we also have to consider a break during Holy Week." (Russell Cadayona)
