Dahil sa temang "Advancing Sports in Mindanao. A Vehicle for Peace and Unity," nakatakdang ganapin sa Pebrero 19-20 ang kauna-unahang Mindanao Sports Summit sa Davao City.
" The island is blessed with vast human and natural resources. We hope that Mindanao lagged behind in many respects, especially in sports development," wika ni PSC Chairman Carlos Tuason.
"Yet, we see this thing as an opportunity to give special focus on Mindanao as a rich breeding ground for our future national athletes. It may also serve as a common ground to promote peace and solidarity among its people. It shall be our modest contribution to the healing and rebuilding of Mindanao," dagdag pa ni Tuason.
Inaasahang dadalo sa opening program sina Secretary Paul Dominguez, Presidential Assistant for Regional Concerns, Secretary Jose Lina ng DILG, siyang author ng PSC Charter, DECS Secretary Raul Roco at Presidential Assistant for Mindanao and MEDVO Chair Jesus Dureza.
