Olympic-bound athletes ganado sa training sa Metz
Pinasalamatan ni Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino ang mga miyembro ng Filipino Community, Department of Moselle at Philippine Embassy sa France para sa masarap na tanghalian matapos ang Holy Mass sa Metz noong Linggo.

MANILA, Philippines – Kasabay ng pagsasanay sa maganda at kumpletong pasilidad sa Metz, France ay ang pagtaas ng kumpiyansa ng mga national athletes na sasabak sa 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Unang bumiyahe ang grupo nina weightlifters Vanessa Sarno, Elreen Ando at John Febuar Ceniza, boxers Aira Villegas, Hergie Bacyadan, Carlo Paalam at Nesthy Petecio at rower Joanie Delgaco patungong Metz training center.

Magkakasunod namang dumating sa pasilidad sina two-time world champion gymnast Caloy Yulo at swimmers Kayla Sanchez at Jarod Hatch.

“You can feel it in their eyes and you can see it in their actions,” ani Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino na namumuno sa administrative team sa training camp.

“It's like doing what a dad does for his family. Tatay na tatay,” dagdag ng pangulo rin ng national cycling federation.

Noong Linggo ay nagsimba ang naturang mga Olympic-bound athletes sa St. Bernard Church kasama ang mga miyembro ng Filipino Community, Department of Moselle at Philippine Embassy sa France.

Nakatakdang sumunod sa Metz sina pole vaulter EJ Obiena, gymnasts Levi Jung-Ruivivar, Aleah Finnegan at Emma Malabuyo, boxer Eumir Felix Marcial, fencer Samantha Catantan at judoka Kiyomi Watanabe.

Hangad ng nasabing mga atleta na maduplika ang kauna-unahang Olympic gold medal na binuhat ni weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz sa Tokyo Games.

Sumuntok naman ng tig-isang silver sina Petecio at Paalam, habang may bronze si Marcial sa nasabing edisyon ng quadrennial event.
