MANILA, Philippines — Ten original short films from Filipino filmmakers across the country will get their big-screen premiere next month as part of the inaugural Panorama Shorts Section of the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival.

The new program — unlike the existing student shorts competition — aims to spotlight completed short films yet to be screened in the Philippines, giving filmmakers an opportunity to reach a wider audience through theatrical exhibition.

Festival chair Ivy Hayagan-Piedad indicated in statement how CinePanalo "has proven to be an important platform for local filmmakers who may now bring their work to a passionate and discerning audience," calling the first Panorama Shorts entries "completed gems."

The selected films and filmmakers are:

  • “Alien Girl!” — Juliana Skye Q. Estaris
  • “Aninaw” — Arthur Benedict Dugan Eustaquio
  • “Gatecrashers” — Mark Francis Daniel T. Vicente
  • “Lip Skimming” — Gian Arre
  • “Narito Ako: A Digital Afterlife” — Miguel Lorenzo Peralta
  • “pansamantagalan” — Jiean Lanz Llave
  • “PINAGKAISAHAN” — Angela Jed Silvestre-Placino

A P2,000 festival pass will also be available for moviegoers who want access to the festival’s full-length films and student shorts, available at the host venue starting September 22

The passes will begin selling in Trinoma, Fairview Terraces, Ayala Malls Feliz, Ayala Malls Circuit, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, and Market! Market! the following day.
