Gen. Rommel Marbil, bagong PNP chief
“ANG pangarap ko ay pangarap n’yo rin. Matatag na ekonomiya, maayos na Lipunan at maayos na kapulisan.” ‘Yan po ang unang mga kataga na nasambit ni President Bongbong Marcos sa kanyang inauguration. “Sir, matutupad po,” ‘yan ang ipinangako ni Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, ang bagong hepe ng Philippine National Police.
Si Marbil ay ini-appoint ni BBM na ika-30th PNP chief. Pinalitan niya ang kaklase sa PMA Class ’91 na si Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., na pormal na nagretiro matapos ang mahigit 37 taon sa serbisyo. Pinasalamatan ni Marbil si BBM sa kanyang trust and confidence sa kanyang liderato. Mismooooo!
“I am truly grateful to our President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the honor you bestowed upon me today. Thank you po Sir, by entrusting me with the significant responsibility,” ani Marbil sa kanyang speech.
“Thank you for your trust and confidence in me to lead the PNP and I assure you that all dedicated members of the PNP stands ready to work tirelessly with you to drive real change towards achieving the collective vision of a Bagong Pilipinas,” ang dagdag pa ng bagong PNP chief. Tsk tsk tsk! Hehehe! Kailangan pa bang i-memorize ‘yan?
Sa kanyang liderato, bibigyan ni Marbil ng prayoridad ang namamayaning smart policing programs at itutuloy ang mga improvements sa pakikibaka ng PNP, lalo na laban sa mga cybercrimes, para maging modern ang Filipino police force para sa modern Filipino society.
“To begin, we shall prioritize integrating the PNP-secured mobile artificial intelligence-driven in real-time smart policing program and ICT development roadmap in our operations, including an active drive to recruit and train a new generation of police officers and support staff with technical expertise and specialized IT skills,” ani Marbil Eh di wow! Hehehe! Ambot sa kanding nga may bangs!
Iginiit ni Marbil na para maging epektibo sila laban sa kung anu-anong umuusbong na kriminalidad, ang PNP “requires competency and innovation in the use and application of technology to its overall operation and daily work.” Dipugaaaaa!
Aniya, ang PNP ay makipagtulungan sa iba’t-ibang law enforcement agencies ng gobyerno at foreign partners para tugunan ang problema ng trans-border criminality at terrorism. “We shall be vigilant and uncompromising in using all means at our disposal to stop these global threats from gaining as solid foothold in our society,” dagdag pa niya.
“I recognize that putting a comprehensive technology infrastructure in place is one of the major challenges for the PNP, I am confident that with careful management and selective priorities, we can achieve this goal in a timely fashion,” ayon pa kay Marbil.
Ang 2024 ay pang-33 taon ni Marbil sa serbisyo, at nasaksihan niya sa nagdaang mga taon ang pagbabago ng society, maging ang bilis ng mga pangyayari.
“This present day social and technological changes have an enormous influence and impact in policing. The growth of public infrastructure has led to greater accessibility and enhanced mobility,” ani Marbil. Hindi naman masakit sa bangs ito!
Maraming pagbabago sa PNP sa liderato ni Marbil. T’yak marami din s’yang plano, kasama na d’yan ang morale and welfare ng 232,000 police force. Abangan!
