Banat Opinyon

Despite sa mga isyu walay water interruption

IYO ANTOY - Antolin dela Serna - Banat

After all, you are there to serve.

“We want to assure all our consumers and stakeholders that despite these circumstances, the operations of MCWD will continue as usual. There will be no disruptions in the delivery of water. We are fully committed to prioritizing the needs of our consumers, and our efforts to mitigate the impacts of the El Nino phenomenon will persist,” nagkanayon si Donoso.

Katin-awan: “LWUA earlier clarified that while Atty. Joey Daluz and the rest of the five-man MCWD Board of Directors were told to “cease and desist from exercising their functions during the period of LWUA's intervention” for at least half a year, Donoso will remain in his current post.”

Whatever, maoy atong panghinaut nga mahusay da kining tanan, nga makaigon kita nga ‘all is well that is done well, ‘nga ang lungsod dili mahimutang at the loosing end.

Nakabasa na man tingali kamo niini, namantala sa The Freeman, nga nagkanayon, “Garcia ‘surprised’ over mayor’s lament: No fallout – VM”

Katin-awan: “While Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama has declared that the City Council is no longer with him, Vice Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia, council presiding officer, said there is no fallout between the mayor and members of the local legislature.”

So, klaro, wala pa sila mag-‘away’ politically, as far Raymond is concerned. “That is why he was “surprised” when the mayor said he felt unsupported by the Council, saying he does citynot know what the mayor meant by such an impression.

"I honestly...wa ko kahibawo sa iyang direksyon, why he was able to say that. But I don't think that (council members not backing the mayor) is happening," matud ni Garcia.

Akong tan-aw ini, simple misunderstanding, simple miscommunication, if any, ug,  sa side sa Mayor, listening too much to people close to the Mayor, who may have their own hidden agenda. Stop them.

Yuna pa, when was the last time, you two people talked to each other, nga kamo rang duha?

The City Council just recently approved the executive department’s proposed P900-million Supplement Budget 1, which includes the Charter Day bonus for the employees, ug uban pang mga laraw sa Mayor, timailhan sa nagpadayon nga support sa Konseho sa executive department.

Unsa may nahitabo niadtong P100 billion budget? “The only thing that we didn't approve was the P100 billion budget, which we slashed to P25 billion, which he vetoed and we (City Council) had overridden? The City Council did not approve the P100 billion the executive department asked because of concerns over the source of funds, among other factors,”katin-wan ni Garcia.

This is normal in a democratic institution. Ug dii kini mamahimog hinungdan sa pagkasiak sa institution, as in the case the City Council of Cebu. Walng personalan, trabaho lang, matud nila.
