Mom from Liloan is Mrs. Cebu Philippines 2025
CEBU, Philippines — Nika Linz Harris, 31, was with her parents and a close friend when her house in Barangay Yati, Liloan, was flooded during the onslaught of Typhoon Tino. They were able to retreat to the second floor, waiting for the water to recede so they could safely go down the stairs.
Her experience with Tino is likely why her response during the final Q&A at the Mrs. Cebu Philippines 2025 finals on Thursday, November 27 resonated deeply with the audience.
Asked to deliver a message of courage and hope to fellow Cebuanas amid recent calamities, she said, “To the women of Cebu, remember, no storm can wash away our strength and no earthquake can shake our faith. We are the heart of the community: strong, compassionate, and resilient. Let’s continue to rise together, rebuild with love, and inspire hope in every single one of us.”
Harris was crowned Mrs. Cebu Philippines 2025, succeeding last year’s titleholder, Cherie Mae Ocampo. This is her first time joining a pageant, inspired by how Mrs. Cebu highlights personal advocacies, something she witnessed firsthand as an audience in previous years.
“I joined Mrs. Cebu because it’s an ideal platform that amplifies personal advocacies,” she said in an interview round at the finals held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. “I advocate for abused women, and I have my own organization that has two beneficiaries. I believe with my title, I can help out more abused women.”
Harris has two kids, ages 13 and 11, who were in California with her husband during the finals. She missed her family, especially during the preparation process. “The hardest part is mentally and emotionally preparing myself because I get nervous in front of a crowd. That’s another reason why I joined: to face my fears,” she told The FREEMAN.
Aside from winning the main crown, she was also part of the top three Best Arrival Look and received several corporate awards from Square Edge, JPark Island Resort and Waterpark, Sachi, One Tectona, Alberto’s Pizza, Waterfront Hotel, Bad Boy Wings, Hooked, Amor Dental Baby, and Face of Queen City Events.
Second runner-up and Mrs. Cebu Philippines Tourism 2025 Mae Mancao Maranga from Cebu City-South secured most of the minor awards, including Best in Evening Gown (designed by Wendell Quisido), Swimsuit, Talent, Production Number, Fun Wear, and Mrs. Photogenic, and also placed in the top three for Best Arrival Look.
Rounding out the top seven were Eunice Baguio of San Remigio, who was named Mrs. Cebu Philippines Grand; Janeth Bardos of Lapu-Lapu City-South as Mrs. Cebu Philippines Heritage; Ethel Joan Poley of Consolacion as Elite Mrs. Cebu Philippines; and Shanine Rose Gealon of Argao as MS. Cebu Philippines.
Other titleholders include Carcar City’s Myrla Navarra as Imperial Queen, Mandaue City’s Raina Barrientos as Regional Queen, and Talisay City South’s Jesusa Lopez as Senior Elite Mrs. Cebu Philippines.
Mrs. Congeniality was awarded to Talisay City-North’s Raquel Britania, along with additional recognitions such as Most Preserving Woman and Woman of Service. Woman of Strength went to Alfanta Obispo of Mactan, while Lopez also received Woman of Strength, and Poley completed the top three for Best Arrival Look.
Cebuano fashion designer Beethoven Bachiller was named Best Gown Designer for Raina Barrientos’ evening gown, which featured a long, gold-draped cape meant to emulate a goddess.
The Mrs. Cebu Philippines 2025 finals production stood out for its Ancient Egyptian-inspired aesthetic, featuring pyramid screens on both sides of the stage and a triangle-shaped runway with an opening at the center.
Mrs. Cebu Philippines Director Jee Candelasa-Eribal told The FREEMAN: “It’s our creative director’s [Danny Booc] idea – something different from traditional pageants where the usual theme is glamour. This one is about relating the qualities of the Egyptian queen to our newly crowned queens.”
All of this year’s Mrs. Cebu Philippines titleholders will join the organization’s outreach programs during their reign, as well as represent Cebu at Mrs. Philippines International, tentatively scheduled for early 2026.
