BONUS. A warehouse worker (bodegero) spent a good part of his 13th month bonus on his "adopted" squatter families residing in the city's North District. He has been doing this for three years now. His vow to St. Peregrine, known as the cancer saint, after his wife's breast cancer got cured through the intervention of the saint.

FOOD. "Ginagmay rang pinaskohan sa pareha tang kabus," he told an Ear informer. "Gamay ra man bonus ta," he said. He spent part of his bonus on food – rice, canned goods, milk (for the malnourished kids), some fruits, and some fastfoods his beneficiaries haven't yet tasted.
