All kinds of inventions are cropping up under our noses. "There's this pill that could make a fart smell like chocolate.

Then there's this deodorant that comes in the form of a candy. You swallow it and your body odor is neutralized and replaced with a sweet scent, like a perfume, that can last for six hours.

After their prayer for safety from typhoon Ruby was granted some residents of a village forgot to thank God. But a parish priest said it's OK. "God will undestand," he said. "It was Me who made those ingrates."

The NEDA chief remains optimistic that the Phl economy will grow 7-8 percent next year. Good. But let the Oratio Imperata prayer continue to arrest the entry of any new typhoon that may scuttle the growth.

Plastic is perhaps the most unwanted material anywhere in the world today. It is blamed for the clogging of canals and drainage resulting in floods. There are laws now penalizing those using plastic shopping bags.

But did you know that during the Hagupit/Ruby threat plastic bags were the most wanted wrapping material by many households. Rice and other cereals that needed protection from rain or flood were contained in plastic bags.

"It doesn't matter where he'll be, we'll be there," the father, a medical doctor, said. Comment: "Mao nay husto. Di kay mohuwat ra ta duolan sa Santo Papa." Reply: "Bitaw. Kay kanang Santo Papa mao nay ilis sa Ginoo dinhi sa yuta."
