Retired US soldier holds garage sale for Bohol

THE EAR - The Freeman

GARAGE SALE. A retired American soldier who had befriended many Boholanos during World War II held a garage sale of his household properties with the proceeds donated to earthquake victims in Bohol. An Ear informer said the American, now in his 70s, lives in Colorado. His grandchildren have made arrangement with a charitable organization in the US for the transmittal of the old man's donation to the quake victims in Bohol.

REGRET. The Ear informer said the retired American soldier expressed regret that he could not give more than the proceeds of his garage sale. "My brief stay in Bohol was the happiest in my life," he was quoted in a newspaper that carried a story about his donation. He can't remember the exact place he stayed in Bohol but the newspaper said he "vividly remembers Bohol."
