On complaint vs. Councilor Abellanosa
We have been awaiting news about Councilor Rodrigo “Bebot†Abellanosa’s reply to the complaint lodged against him by Atty. Aristotle B. Batuhan at the Office of the President.
Malacañang dutifully informed Abellanosa about the complaint in late January and asked him to submit a reply within 15 days.
It’s now over a month and we are still in the dark about it. We’ve heard nothing from Bebot, and Malacañang has neither acknowledged receipt of any reply from the Sangguniang Panglungsod official.
Has Abellanosa submitted a reply already? Or did he just simply ignore the summons of the Office of the President? However, we don’t think Bebot would snub a Malacañang order outright. That is very unlikely, because doing so is a conduct unbecoming of a future congressman.
So, what’s the news? Has Batuhan’s complaint made progress? We hate to think that President Benigno Simeon Aquino III is prejudicial to his Liberal partymates, but his office and Abellanosa have been silent about the matter. And the silence is very deafening.
