Dressing up the Sto. Niño

FIESTA PREPARATION. It is the practice of some devotees of the Sto. Niño to have the garments of their Sto. Niño images at home changed or cleaned in time for the Fiesta Senyor. “Ang pag ilis og sanina sa Sto. Niño negosyo na pud,”said an Ear informer who had his Niño's cape changed at the stalls near the basilica.

EXPENSIVE. How much does it cost? “Pretty expensive,” said our informer. “Gamay kaayo akong image pero P200 na ang kapa,” he said. Another informer, however, said that P200 is probably the cheapest since the garments of the Sto. Niño can go really expensive, depending on the material used. “Naa'y uban gani nga mga precious stones gyud ug gold ang ibutang,” the other informer added.
