Now they're confirming Sec. Jesse's appointment

HAVE BAT WILL STRIKE - Juanito V. Jabat   - The Philippine Star

I heard someone say that DILG Sec. Jesse Robredo was a man of action. But that's not the reason why he never got beyond being an acting secretary.

This sports story says a lawyer is joining a wrestling tournament. I can't wait to see the special power of this attorney.

I heard a TV newscaster say: “37 more charred for San Beda hazing deaths.” I read the news in print and found out the 37 were charged. Not charred. No, not yet.

DOTC Sec. Mar Roxas was so emotional when he announced the retrieval of Jesse Robredo's body. He had to be comforted by the grieving children of the secretary.

A media colleague from Naga City (Cam Sur) said anyone who wants to replace Jesse Robredo as DILG secretary must love to ride a bike in purontong shorts, must not hesitate to clear a clogged up imbornal, must be ready to commute in a common, non-aircon passenger bus, etc.

What's this I hear that there's a move to hold a yearly Dolphy Day holiday? Someone must be joking. Someone must be making the “Comedian King’s” memory a big, big joke. Haha.

It says here that two retired police officers from the Philippines (the news doesn't say where in the Philippines) are now involved in massive planting of tea shrubs in Indonesia. During their active police days, I wonder if they were also involved in planting evidences against crime suspects?

E-mail from Josue de Leon of Tagbilaran City: “I'm a basketball fan and I watch the games in the William Jones Cup in Taipei. I was happy when our Pilipinas team won four games in a row. Still I'm not satisfied because our sharp-shooters who could easily score from the three-point area in the PBA could not do it in the Jones Cup. Thank God they were still able to win four in a row.”

OVERHEARD. The congressional Commission on Appointments is now planning to confirm DILG Sec. Robredo's appointment after three bypasses. And they are blaming Malacañang for the delay in the confirmation. A DILG employee was heard commenting: “Abi patay naman si Sir Okihan na nila. Og ako pang Sir kagon (Kalagon or multohon) ko silang tanan.”
