Selling of kitchen knives openly on the sidewalks

DEADLY KNIVES. Many killings have occured in many parts of the country with kitchen knives as weapon. An Ear reader has suggested that “strict rules” be adopted — like those for handguns — in the sale of these knives that can be as deadly as guns. The reader says he has observed that kitchen knives ranging from six inches to longer than 12 inches are openly sold on the sidewalks. 

RESTRICTION. The same Ear reader also said the carrying of knives — kitchen and butcher’s — in passenger conveyances like PUJs and buses should be “restricted,” being deadly weapons.
