A saying our leaders should always remember

HAVE BAT WILL STRIKE - Juanito V. Jabat   -

"Here today gone tomorrow." This is one saying that every government leader should always bear in mind. It refers not only to the balding head of someone but also, and mainly so, to the power of the powerful.

* * *

 The surviving members of the families of Saddam Hussein, Mohammar Gadhafi, and Ferdinand Marcos can attest to the truthfulness of this saying.

* * *

 The members of the family of former President GMA, too, can tell you how true this saying is. For look at Ate Glo today----very sick and very "helpless" against the new powers-that-be.

* * *

 Just a few hours after the Supreme Court issued a TRO allowing GMA to leave the country, GMA and hubby made a dash for freedom. In basketball they call that fastbreak. But they failed to score.

 Anad partylist Rep. Jun Alcover delivered a privileged speech recently. Thanks to the congressman's office for briefing me through SMS on the main highlight of Jun's speech.

* * *

 The hard-hitting congressman took the Aquino admin to task for the reported cash grants to the rebels including the Muslim MILF and communist NPA. Alcover held no punches in castigating the Aquino administration, and in effect P-Noy Aquino himself, citing facts and figures supporting his blistering attack.

 More on Pacquiao. An e-mail from Eddie Pacquiao ("Not related," he says, "to the boxing great."): "It's none of my business but I think it's time for Manny to hang up his gloves while he's still on top ... He should spend the remaining years of his life to serving the poor in the poor province of Sarangani."

* * *

 E-mailer Eddie Pacquiao says he's not related to Manny. He comes from New Washington, Aklan, hometown of the late Jaime Cardinal Sin. But he says he's proud when someone mistakes him for Manny's kin.

 A male college student, 20, whose name I am withholding from publication (on my own) would like to know where he could file a complaint concerning a facial cream which, according to him, caused some skin eruptions on his face.

* * *

"Nigamit ko aning facial cream aron mahamis ang kotis ko apan mao ni ron ang nahitabo, daghang butoy-butoy sa akong nawong," he said. I asked a lawyer friend to help this student, who asked: "Skin expert ba nang lawyer friend mo, Sir?" He he.
