George Yang’s Scholar
Krissan Manikan, a scholar of the Klassikal Music Foundation founded by distinguished tenor George Yang, is now at the Paris Conservatory. Her voice teacher Mme. Guignolet will be back in Manila from April to May 2012 to hold another master class at the UP and present an even bigger concert with orchestra. Krissan advises all Yang scholars to attend the master class, one of them might also get a scholarship in Paris like she did.
At choral rehearsals, students become very aware of their voices while listening to each other. They will be working with opera singer Nathalie Dessay.
In theater classes the teacher sees in Krissan a potential actress. Yoga helps the students relax their voices. Other courses: dance, solfegge, Atelie Polyphonique (vocal ensemble with analysis of voices), voice lessons on technicalities, interpretation of songs, Italian and German classes.
