To scare the smokers

HAVE BAT WILL STRIKE - Juanito V. Jabat   -

A Taiwanese whose prediction that the world would end did not come true was fined by the government US$1,380. He could’ve been spared from the fine had his prediction come true.

“Retired cop loses high powered guns to his son,” says this news item here. Not his son. But the son of a gun. Hehe!

I was given as a birthday gift, a coffee table book on “How To Keep Your Memory Intact.” It’s actually a humor book. It was borrowed by someone, I don’t remember who.

It says here that there are now 350 million diabetics worldwide. Isn’t the sugar industry badly affected by this?

By the time this column sees print, the first game between the Pinoy Azkals and Sri Lanka in Colombo shall have been over. As I write this (Tuesday, June 28), the result is not yet known but Dan Parami of the Azkals has predicted that we would win the first match.

Nonito says he’s “rooting hoarse” for the Azkals and hopes “our team” will be living up to “media expectations.”

Bernard “Bernie” Fabiosa has been reported as being a candidate for the PBA Hall of Fame. Remember Bernie, this flashy Crispa (his last team) guard from Bohol? He is now in his mid-50s and his living in California.

I was a great fan of Bernie Fabiosa  as I also was a fan of all the other “small-size” PBA stars including Yoyong Martirez  and had kept track of his scintillating hardcourt exploits. Oh, yes, Bernard Fabiosa deserves enshrinement in the PBA Hall of Fame.
