Why Cebu is losing the race to CamSur
DON’T GRIPE. “Let’s not gripe against our (Cebu’s) steadily losing to CamSur in the race to the No. 1 spot in tourism,” says an international Pinoy travel journalist. “Let us instead do something to arrest our sliding down in this race.” He said Cebu’s tourist attractions “are old and stale.” He suggested that Cebu tourism think tanks should keep introducing new attractions. “The Magellan’s Cross, the Taoist Temple, the Basilica, etc. are not worth a second visit,” he said.
WHY CAMSUR? “CamSur or Camarines Sur is gaining ground because every year the province has something for the tourists to see,” this travel writer told The Ear. He said many foreign tourists have told him they’re fed up with what Cebu has been offering tourists since 50 years ago.
