Blood sellers still in business

- The Ear -

BLOODY BUSINESS. They’re still here, these people who sell their blood  straight from their veins  to those who need it. Some of them offer their blood direct to prospective buyers, others have “agents” who do the dealing for them. The price has gone up from only P250 years back to P2,500 now per deal, The Ear informer learned.

POOR BUT HEALTHY. These blood donors for a fee are mostly from the depressed areas of the city and towns but they are healthy. “Kinahanglan nga healthy sila kay ilang lawas maoy ilang puhunan,” said an “agent” of one donor. “Gibawalan na ni sila apan tungod sa kawad-on nagpadayon sa ilang makadaut sa lawas nga panginabuhi.”
