Talking green
Everyone is talking green these days. Time was when only Gary Lising talked green and was scolded by the moral crusaders.

Have you read Gary Lising’s book “The Greening of the Philippines”? It’s greener than Gibo’s t-shirt. One line from that book: “Let’s play TV. I’ll turn your knobs and you watch my antenna rise.” Green!

The Ampatuans have agreed among themselves to support Noynoy. Observers call it “nightmare support.” Others call it “kiss of death.” Noynoy calls it a “big joke.” A joke no one in Noy’s camp considers funny.
* * *
Now that their support for Noynoy has been rejected, will the Ampatuans go back to their original plan to endorse Manny Villar? (As reports have it.)
* * *
These Ampatuan guys sure know how to play politics — and gamble on it. No, they’re not going back to Villar. Not unless he seizes the lead in the surveys which Noynoy has been dominating.

There is no limit to human suspicion. Especially in a country like ours where gossip and rumor thrive. And so we hear suspicions like:
1. The Ampatuans were paid high for endorsing Noynoy to ruin Noy’s image before the people who are mad at the massacre suspects.
2. An anti-Noynoy camp wants to give Noy sleepless nights knowing that the endorsement could give him nightmares.

This news here says the erstwhile solid Garcia political clan has cracked up. Split down the middle. Gibo and Villar are caught in the middle. But they have nothing to do with the splitup. The culprit is the “personal concern” of one of the the Garcias, according to one of the Garcias.

Email from Greg Montilla: “In the meeting of our fellow Visayans in San Francisco last month it was agreed that even if we are 10,000 miles away from home we must help our brothers and sisters at home elect the candidates that could serve our nation well ... Guidelines were distributed. It was a non-partisan gathering.”

To other email senders: I wish to acknowlege all emails received. Unfortunately many messages have become stale as I was indisposed for over three weeks. I’m trying to make do with a few.
